Why is self care so powerful? Why do we need it? Why do I listen to my body and it’s wisdom whenever I experience pain?

I’d be lost without it. The work I do I learn, I have to rebalance & process. It’s so important for my wellbeing.

Caring for myself allows me to connect to my inner being & higher self, my intuition, my body and inner connection.

We can be so triggered by people, situations, throughout day or week. There will be something that bugs us, stays with us. Where we feel angry, annoyed, hurt, sad, undervalued, unappreciated, frustrated. And those emotions are only problematic when they stay stored inside our bodies.

Why? Because we hold onto it for various reasons. Our body holds onto the emotion, that in turn impacts our pattern, for example; sleep, rest, health, relationship. All for that one thing. It’s a lesson yes, but releasing that tension is essential for the body. Our body was not designed to suppress, but to express and flow.

Our bodies know all the answers, so much of our wisdom is stored within our body. And it never lies.

Did you know that 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year; they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope according to the MHF (Mental Health Foundation).

In fact, 80% of people feel stress whilst working that nearly half say they need help in learning how to manage stress.

Job stress is more strongly associated with health complaints than financial or family problems.

This is a practice I use often in so many ways; with private patients, with groups, when I’m invited to speak at health and women empowerment conferences in LA, with company clients with AMAZING results and insights for participants.

In this guided meditation, I will take you through a deeply relaxing experience where you will see how being with our pain opens up its deeper meaning, helping us to move forward in our lives in a way that was not possible before. As Eugene Gendlin writes, “Our body knows the direction of healing and life. If you take the time to listen to it through Focusing, it will give you the steps in the right direction” (Gendlin 1978).

When the body holds on the cells & tissues change in the area. Research has showed over the past 17 years that emotional tension was most held in the fascia of our torso. Chest/heart/gut – areas that process emotions, ribs protect lungs, survival & heart, survival & feelings; and our gut process stress.
